Mission:
The Welding Engineer will oversee and ensure welding operations comply with technical standards, safety regulations, and project specifications within the energy sector. This role will involve planning, monitoring, and optimizing welding processes to support the construction, maintenance, and development of energy-related infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement welding procedures aligned with project and industry standards.
- Conduct technical evaluations of welding consumables, materials, and techniques to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Supervise welding operations and inspect the quality of welded joints to meet design criteria and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with design, construction, and inspection teams to address technical challenges.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes (e.g., ASME, ISO, API) and regulatory requirements in welding operations.
- Monitor and document welding progress, tests, and inspections in technical reports.
- Provide technical expertise in welding failure analysis and recommend improvements.
Profile:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related technical field.
- In-depth knowledge of welding processes, metallurgy, and heat treatment.
- Strong understanding of codes and standards related to welding in the energy sector (e.g., ASME, API, EN).
- Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
- Hands-on experience in fabrication, inspection, or construction environments.
Software: Familiarity with welding simulation and inspection tools is advantageous (e.g., AutoCAD, WeldCAD).
